Connector-specific FAQ
The answers in this section only apply to the managed TikTok Ads connector.
What makes the TikTok Ads connector different from other ad connectors?
Most ad connectors expose both resource tables (for example, campaigns and ad groups) and report tables. The TikTok Ads connector only exposes pre-built report tables. The connector surfaces these reports as tables organized by advertising level (campaign, adgroup, ad) and reporting frequency (daily, hourly, lifetime). For example: campaign_report_daily, ad_report_hourly.
This differs from connectors like the Google Ads connector, which make both resource and report tables available.
What tables does the connector support?
The connector supports the following tables, organized by advertising level and reporting frequency:
- Incremental tables (cursor-based ingestion):
campaign_report_daily,campaign_report_hourly,adgroup_report_daily,adgroup_report_hourly,ad_report_daily,ad_report_hourly - Full refresh tables (refreshed on each pipeline run):
campaign,adgroup,ad,campaign_report_lifetime,adgroup_report_lifetime,ad_report_lifetime
For the full schema, see Supported source tables.
What metric groups are available?
The connector supports the following metric groups across report tables:
- AUCTION_ADS_BASIC: spend, impressions, clicks, CPC, CPM, CTR, reach, frequency
- VIDEO_PLAY: video views at completion thresholds, average play duration
- ENGAGEMENT: likes, comments, shares, follows, profile visits
- ATTRIBUTION: conversions, cost-per-conversion, conversion rate
- IN_APP: app installs, registrations, purchases, add-to-cart events
- PAGE_EVENT: search and payment completion tracking
- SHOP_EVENT: product browsing, checkout initiation, live metrics
- SKAN: iOS conversion and installation tracking
The connector only supports basic reports. For a list of columns in each group, see Metric groups.
What does source_schema map to?
The source_schema field corresponds to the advertiser ID in TikTok Ads.
Does the connector support SKAN metrics?
SKAN metrics are available in daily reports (campaign_report_daily, adgroup_report_daily) but aren't supported for lifetime reports. See Metric groups.
