Databricks Genie on Microsoft 365 Copilot

Chat with Genie on Microsoft 365 Copilot to ask data questions and get answers. Set up the integration using the Databricks Genie app in Microsoft Teams or through Power Platform.

This integration uses the same model providers and trust and safety guarantees as Genie. See Hosting provider used when partner-powered AI features setting is enabled and disabled and Databricks AI assistive features trust and safety.

This page describes how to download, set up, and use the Databricks Genie app in Microsoft 365 Copilot.

Connect to Genie

Connect to Genie using one of the following methods:

Databricks recommends connecting with the Databricks Genie app in Microsoft Teams. It uses Genie instead of individual Genie Agents, so the integration is easier to set up. This direct connection also provides lower latency.

Chat with Genie on Microsoft 365 Copilot

After you establish a connection to Genie Spaces, you can chat with Genie through Microsoft 365 Copilot using one of the following methods:

  1. Access Genie from More agents:

    1. From the Microsoft 365 Copilot landing page, click More agents from the sidebar.
    2. Search for and select Databricks Genie if you installed the app from Microsoft Teams, or select the corresponding Copilot Studio connection you created.
    3. Send your question to Genie.
  2. Ask Genie from New chat:

    1. Type @Databricks and select Databricks Genie.
    2. Send your question.
