Page types

A page type is a single documentation page of a particular kind, such as a tutorial or a concept. Each page type is built from a predictable set of page sections. Doc sets tell you which page types a project needs; each page type below tells you which sections to assemble.

Page type	When to use
Tutorial	A guided, end-to-end walkthrough that gets a reader to a working result.
Concept	An explanation of what something is and how it works.
SQL reference	Reference documentation for a SQL statement, function, or clause.
How-to	Task-focused steps for a reader who already knows the concepts.
Release note	An announcement of a new or changed capability.
