Set up a coding agent
If you use a coding agent such as Claude Code, Cursor, VS Code, or OpenCode, install the MLflow skills so it can work with MLflow effectively. This is a one-time setup that gives your agent knowledge of MLflow's tracing and evaluation APIs.
Install MLflow skills
Run this command once from your terminal:

uvx mlflow agent setup
This installs MLflow-specific skills for your coding agent. With them, your agent understands MLflow's tracing and evaluation APIs and can generate accurate, copy-paste-ready code for common tasks — adding spans, running evaluations, querying traces — without guessing at the API.
note
uvx mlflow agent setup requires uv to be installed. Run pip install uv if you don't have it.
