Lakebase Provisioned
Lakebase Provisioned was the original version of Lakebase. It used fixed-size provisioned compute that you scaled manually.
All Lakebase Provisioned instances have been upgraded to the Lakebase Autoscaling platform, now known simply as Lakebase. Lakebase adds autoscaling compute, scale-to-zero, branching, and instant restore. See Lakebase.
The Lakebase Provisioned UI remains available until September 1, 2026. After that date, manage your instances from the Lakebase UI.
What happened to Provisioned instances
All existing Provisioned instances were upgraded to the Autoscaling platform, completed in July 2026. The upgrade preserved your data, connection strings, API calls, and Asset Bundle and Terraform configurations. Compatible interfaces for existing instances
The following Provisioned interfaces continue to work for existing instances after the upgrade:

databricks database) - Python, Java, and Go SDKs
- Databricks Asset Bundles (
database_instances) - Terraform (
databricks_database_instance)
After the upgrade, you can manage the same instances with the current Lakebase interfaces, including the Postgres API, the Databricks CLI, and the Lakebase UI. For details, see the upgrade guides above.
