Returns the three-letter English abbreviation for the month of expr.

Syntax​

monthname(expr)

Arguments​

  • expr: A DATE, TIMESTAMP, or STRING expression.

Returns​

A STRING.

The result is one of Jan, Feb, Mar, Apr, May, Jun, Jul, Aug, Sep, Oct, Nov, or Dec.
