DLT release 2025.16

These features and improvements were released with the 2025.16 release of DLT.

Databricks Runtime versions used by this release​

Channel:

  • CURRENT (default): Databricks Runtime 16.1 or 15.4
  • PREVIEW: Databricks Runtime 16.1

Because DLT channel releases follow a rolling upgrade process, channel upgrades are deployed to different regions at different times. Your release, including Databricks Runtime versions, might not be updated until a week or more after the initial release date. New features and improvements​

  • DLT support for Unity Catalog is now GA. See Use Unity Catalog with your DLT pipelines.
  • Serverless DLT pipelines now use an improved autoscaling algorithm, which makes more efficient scale-up and scale-down decisions. This improves the cost efficiency of serverless DLT while retaining its latency performance.
  • The default publishing mode, which does not use the LIVE schema (legacy) and allows for publishing to multiple schemas within the same pipeline, is now GA. You may still have pipelines that use the LIVE schema (legacy). See LIVE schema (legacy).
