SQL configuration parameters

This article describes how a Databricks administrator can use the web UI to configure SQL configuration parameters that automatically apply to all SQL endpoints in a workspace.

To configure all SQL endpoints using the REST API, see Global SQL Endpoints API.


When you change a SQL configuration parameter, all running SQL endpoints are automatically restarted.

You must be a Databricks administrator to configure settings for all SQL endpoints.

Configure SQL parameters

To configure all endpoints with SQL parameters:

  1. Click User Settings Icon Settings at the bottom of the sidebar and select SQL Admin Console.

  2. Click the SQL Endpoint Settings tab.

  3. In the SQL Configuration Parameters textbox, specify one key-value pair per line. Separate the name of the parameter from its value using a space. For example, to enable ANSI_MODE:

  4. Click Save.
