Enable serverless compute
Serverless compute for notebooks, workflows, and DLT is automatically enabled in many accounts. If your account was automatically enabled, no additional steps are necessary. Serverless compute is available by default in your eligible workspaces. If you signed up for a free trial, this feature is automatically enabled on your account after the trial ends.
This article explains how to enable serverless compute for notebooks, jobs, and DLT.
This feature can only be used in workspaces that meet the eligibility requirements. See Eligibility.
For more information on serverless compute, see Connect to serverless compute.
Enable serverless compute
Serverless compute for notebooks and jobs has unrestricted access to the public internet by default. To configure network security features, see Serverless compute plane networking.
After an account admin enables serverless compute, all eligible workspaces in the account will have access to use serverless compute for notebooks, jobs, and DLT. To enable serverless compute in your account:
- In the account console, click
Settings.
- Click the Feature enablement tab.
- Enable the Serverless compute for workflows, notebooks, and DLT setting.
The eligible workspaces in your account are now enabled for serverless compute. All users in these workspaces can now use serverless compute. Data access permissions are configured separately.
In workspaces that are not eligible, the serverless option is disabled and includes a tooltip explaining why the workspace is ineligible.
